Word to the wise

This morning, at the Mass that "kicked off" Catholic Schools Week, our pastor spoke about the very important role that our school-church family plays in educating our children:

"If we do not take seriously the responsibility to teach our children about God, then the world will do it for us."

Thanks for sharing that. What a scary thought.

Amen! "The World" says God is whatever you want him or her to be... if you want him or her to be at all. Your post is a good reminder how important of a job we parents have.

Hi Jane!

To dovetail on that thought: We, as parents, are educators of the faith for our children. In order to be good and faithful servants of the King, we must continue our own education and journey in our Faith. If we don't have Jesus, we can't give Jesus to others.

Blessings,
Anne

This is off topic, but just occurred to me.

Did you get to go to the Latin Mass for epiphany??

Hi Jamie,

We didn't get there. If you scroll back through my Epiphany weekend posts, you'll find that we were actually away (just my husband and I!) and came home Sunday afternoon. We did our own family traditions for Epiphany at the house, but we didn't get to the TLM. We're still trying to find a time to check it out.

I keep checking for your news at Baby Central! Hope you're feeling well.

God Bless,
Jane

Ughhh I wish I had baby news to share! My due date is THIS Thursday....no signs whatsoever of him wanting to make an appearance any time soon. I am feeling fine...about to go get my oil changed LOL.

Due to some medical concerns and much negotiating on my part the doctors are evicting him by force as of 41 weeks (they wanted to induce BY my due date). So at least I know I won't be taking him to his first day of college in utero! ;)
