Hand-Wringing Decision

Plasma
or LCD? And what actually is the difference? I'd ask the nice young man at Best B*y, but he started backing away slowly when I told him that the TV we were planning to *recycle* was black and white with UHF hook-ups on the back. And, no, I gently told him, there was no remote to recycle with it. (He still may be sitting in the mock-home theater display rocking back and forth in the corner.)

Cracking up here :)

We just bought plasma...it has to do with the fact that we don't watch TV (we don't have cable or anything) but we watch a lot of movies on DVD that we already own or get from Netflix. But if you do have cable and/or you will be purchasing the 'special kind' of DVD's...um Blue Ray or ??? I don't even know if that is how you spell it...can you tell that the TV is my husband's toy???? then you want the LCD. Does this help at all??? hee hee :)

Okay..my hubby (who cares about these kinds of things) says to get LCD 1080P. It uses less electricity, no risk of "image burn in", and has a superior picture. But...if you are looking to save money get the DLP. DLP is a 3rd type (Plasma, LCD and DLP). Happy shopping. Oh, and he says "can we come over and watch a movie"?
