Advent Resources

One of my favorite books to celebrate the liturgical year is a great book called the Big Book of Catholic Traditions. I think I've linked it in a previous post here. It is full of great ideas. And for recipes--A Continual Feast by Evelyn Birge Vitz is great! Also, author Cay Gibson has a couple of great books (but a recent addition specific to Advent) that can be found here.

Do you have any Advent resources that are your tried and true favorites?

The first Advent resource I purchased was Advent and Christmas for the Christian Family by Teresa Zepeda and Laurie Navar Gill. I still use it. Another valuable resource is A Treasure Chest of Traditions for Catholic Families by Monica McConkey.

Thanks, Michelle! I will have to check those out. I actually have one other book (and a few booklets) that I use for my own personal devotion/reflection during Advent and the Word Among Us always does a nice job for adult devotionals.

God Bless,
Jane

Oh, for adult reflections I highly recommend the one by Fr. Groeschel. It's titled Behold, He comes (meditations on the Incarnation daily readings from advent to epiphany) I read it as part of our prayer time when lighting the Advent wreath.

Fr. Groeschel also has a daily meditation for Lent which is wonderful as well.
