Late Night Phone Calls

Twice last night I was rocked from a deep sleep to the sound of the phone ringing. Lo and behold! The Blackberry has-at a minimum-phone service in Ethiopia. And I was awakened by The Captain who called to say, "We're here. I have cell phone service. Oh, and we're just waiting to be picked up by the orphanage director to go get Baby Girl. We'll call you later, bye." ACK!
And he really expected me to go back to sleep? (Although I was informed if they were going to be sleep deprived, we were ALL going to be sleep deprived. Sounds like a woman in labor, don't you think?)
About an hour and a half later the phone rang out again. He was calling but this time with our darling daughter in tow! He said she's a "real cutie", but she has a nasty upper respiratory infection and was started on antibiotics yesterday. It's also very rainy there.
Hopefully, these are not chicken pox related symptoms. Also, the travel seems to have caught up with Beulah and she was feeling a little under the weather. Again, praying that she'll be feeling better today.

More updates as I have them...

I have been following this wonderful and exciting saga every step of the way, and am praying for you all! I am so happy for you and that lucky little baby girl.

I've been very weepy lately -- yesterday was my 9 (NINE!! How did this happen?) year old's birthday, and on this weekend we had cause to recall the arrival of each of our little ones from Korea. I'm a mess just thinking about all these wonderful things ... and there you are, going through it right now!

God bless you as you wait at home. It won't be long now!!!!!

That is so weird, the recent picture she didn't look so rosy cheeked and I wondered. How weird....
I hope it's a bacterial thing and the antibiotics kick it. I think I mentioned this before, Ghana is having a chicken pox issue also. Must be the season-hey, I just remembered I got mine in September.
Ok, this is WAY too much info and I'm sorry I'm rambling....
Bottom line, I hope your bigger baby feels better and your little baby AND everyone else stays healthy.
Jane, your stomach has to be doing flips......thinking of you and sending lots of deep breaths.
Hugs,
Ericka

how wonderful that your little girl is now with the Captain. Not long now and you will be holding her in your arms. Praying for Beulah.
