Destination USA

They're flight is officially in the air and headed for the US. They had a going away party scheduled for this afternoon at Layla House. I'm sure they took lots of pictures. I can't wait to see them and hear all about it. For now, however, I'm fully focused on their arrival tomorrow---less than 24 hours away!
One of the things that I've seen done before, and I thought was a GREAT idea, was to have friends and family *sign* the new children's memory book. Since this blog has become a virtual memory book to share with H and Baby T as they grow and wonder about their journey to our hearts and home, I'd love for each of you to share a thought, a hope or a prayer with them to know that you all, too, were part of their story...each in your own unique ways. Thank you so much for being a part of such a special time and thank you for the great welcome you've given our newest family members!!!

Welcome Helen & Thomas. Just as your new family is so very blessed to have you join them forever, so are you blessed to not only know the love of your first family, but also the love and security of permanence in your new family. As you both grow to love your new family and country, I hope that you will always hold your first family and your birth country dear to your hearts, for they will forever be a part of who you are and who you will become.

Helen and Thomas,

I am so excited to finally get to tell you WELCOME HOME!! You are both beautiful gifts to your new family. They have waited anxiously for this day for a long time, and along with all the rest of us, couldn't be happier to have you with them. There will be many more blessings and joys in your lives to come, but none as great as the blessing that God gave you all when He made you a family.

Congratulations!

Helen and Thomas,
Welcome welcome welcome to this crazy and amazing family. What a warm and caring environment you will grow up in! A bit of advice: Don't let Nora cover you in mayo, chocolate, and/or marker, don't let Claire dress you up TOO often (see previous blog), be sure to pick your own role in all of Brigid's impromptu performances, and whatever you do, never sign anything Patrick gives you until you read the fine print.

In all seriousness, feel confident that you are both treasures and you couldn't have found more wonderful people to call family.

Meet you in January,
Lizardo

Dear Helen and Thomas,
Welcome to America and to your new home. It must be so difficult to leave all you have known to come to something so different. But, change can bring amazing things, things you maybe couldn't have imagined before. Be brave and know that you are surrounded by love. As you are lucky to have such a wonderful new family, so too are they lucky to have you. Welcome HOME! Love Shaun, Paige, Dillon, Moira, Abbie, and Flynn McNally

Helen & Thomas -
Welcome to your new and future home. I cannot begin to tell you how fortunate you both are to have found a family that will love you so completely! Your new parents make it look awfully easy and terribly fufilling having such a large clan - and your siblings are second to none! May angels guide you and watch over you in your new life!
Love & Hugs, Kim (Pettey)

We learn that wise men followed the stars for years to find the miracle of Christ. We've watched your family pray and follow the signs that led you to each other for years as well. I pray that you will remember the Advents and Christmases that brought you each to this first holiday season together. Grow in love, J, P, P, B, H, C, N, T.
