Urgent Prayer Request

I just received a phone call about a neighboring community, who has found itself with a new business in town--Planned Parenthood. Apparently, they went in like a thief in the night, totally under the radar and are scheduled to be open with the specific purpose of providing abortions to this community. The local newspaper is running a poll about whether or not such a service is necessary. You can vote until 4pm CST. Does our community covet such a service? At this point, the votes tell the only story. Go and vote, if it's not too late. But if it is, don't worry, it's never too late for prayers--especially those that fly beneath the radar.

It's so sad to hear this. It's really scary how many people in this world are completely numb to what is happening in our own country. There is no value for life. I'm saddened to say that in my state Maryland abortions may be performed up until the 9th month of pregnancy and a minor child does not need a parent to be contacted before they perform an abortion on them. I pray for a change to these laws. My father-in-law runs a catholic youth group called Straight Forward and they go down to the nearest planned parenthood and try to save as many lives as they can. They have undergone a lot of scrutiny for this being spit on and cussed at but they stand true to what they believe and some lives have been saved. I will be praying for your town :o)

Thanks for your post on this issue! How horrible this is for the community! I voted earlier in the poll. As you mentioned, the question was asking if the community needs a health clinic that provides abortion services. Earlier this afternoon the "No" votes were only beating the "Yes" votes by a slim margin. I don't know what the votes were when the "official" polls closed for the newspaper deadline, but as of 9pm tonight, this was the score: No to Abortion here 72%. Yes to Abortion here: 27%. I hope Planned Parenthood reads the poll results. Oh, that's right, they don't have time for that... they're too busy counting all that blood money.

As of Tuesday morning, I can't even find the poll results online. I don't know where they are?!
Thank you to those who voted and to those who are praying. I wonder if there will be any action based on the poll results...

Kelli, thank you for sharing that information. What an awesome program your father-in-law runs.
BTW, speaking of unborn babies, how are you feeling? I check in on your blog regularly to see if you're feeling a little less first trimestery. God Bless! ;-)
