Her Perspective: Vietnamese Adoptee via the NYT

An interesting article to read about a woman who was adopted from Vietnam.

Thank you for this link! I found this woman's perspective very helpful.

Adoption has so many facets, many of them difficult for our children to work through. It's "the nature of the beast" I suppose, and the challenge for us as adoptive parents is to find ways to prepare our kids for difficulties we may never have experienced ourselves, and to help mitigate the pain whenever possible.

I thought this article sought to articulate the experience, and did not seek to lay blame. She even offered a very useful perspective on helping our children deal with the more difficult aspects surrounding identity and racism.

Great link! Thanks.

I'm glad you liked it. The whole blog is pretty good, too.
